A green premium is the additional cost payable for an alternative zero carbon or low carbon product. This concept was popularized by the book "How to Avoid a Climate Disaster" by Bill Gates published in 2021.
Sometimes these are perfectly equivalent products but sometimes they require some adaptation. These differences between the mainstream and alternative method need to be accounted for. Often, though, the difference is just the amount of research needed to find the alternative product and source it from a non-mainstream supplier.
This website aims to collect case studies for various current technology options. Each option will be showcased and compared to the status quo product based on price, availability, convenience and other factors.
